Termite Treatments: EPI/LI vs Conventional

EPI/LI vs Conventional

Exterior Perimeter/Limited Interior Treatment (EP/LI) termite treatments are designed to be less invasive to the interior of a structure than conventional termite treatments as they require significantly less drilling into the structure.
In an EP/LI treatment, a continuous treatment zone is established around the perimeter of the structure. In the interior, only areas with active infestations are treated.

EP/LI treatments are made possible by the use of non-repellent active ingredients where termites do not attempt to avoid the treatment zone. When deciding if this treatment is right for the structure you will be treating, the following variables should be considered:

•    Construction of the structure
•    Current activity
•    Local termite pressure
•    The product label
•    Local rules and regulations

Conventional Termite Treatment

Conventional termite treatments (also known as full drill outs) are a method where all known potential termite entry points are treated. A continuous treatment zone will be established in the following areas where there are breaks in the slab.

•    The interior perimeter of the structure
•    The hollow block voids
•    The exterior perimeter of the structure

When deciding if this treatment is right for the structure you will be treating, the following variables should be considered:

•    Construction of the structure
•    Current activity
•    Local termite pressure
•    The product label
•    Local rules and regulations
